- Staff Advisory members play key role in design of forged V2 irons -
Wilson Golf, with more Major victories (61) than any other club
manufacturer, has extended its
award-winning FG Tour irons range by adding another precision
forged cavity-back iron developed with the help of its leading Tour
Aimed at the highly-skilled golfer, the new Wilson Staff FG Tour
V2 irons are the latest addition to the brand’s historic forged
iron legacy and have been put into tournament play by Staff
Advisory Players Padraig Harrington, Ricky Barnes and Kevin Streelman
within weeks of their testing them.
Falling under Wilson Staff’s F-style or ‘Feel’ player category,
the Wilson Staff FG Tour V2 irons offer the accomplished golfer
pleasing visual cues at address, unmatched shot-shaping ability and soft
feel for instant feedback on each shot.
“Feedback from our Staff Advisory Players has helped shape these irons,”
said Jon Pergande, Wilson’s Global Manager of Club R&D. “And a number
have demonstrated their supreme confidence by immediately putting them
into tournament play, complimenting others like Paul Lawrie, who
continue to use the proven FG Tours to win on Tour.”
V2 irons are specifically designed for leading Tour players
thanks to a thin, rounded topline and a softer leading edge radius into
the hosel that imply a discreet offset and promote superior setup and
target alignment for the better player.
The irons deliver traditional muscleback feel in a cavity construction,
with a maximum amount of soft 8620 mild carbon steel placed directly
behind the impact zone to provide greater feedback and positive feel.
The precise weight distributed across the cavity and around the
perimeter optimises MOI for added forgiveness.
The V2 irons come with proven KBS Tour shafts for exceptional
performance, soft feel and greater tip stability.
The Wilson Staff FG Tour V2 irons (4-PW) have
a RRP of £599.
